and yes there was a gap of about 30 pts between the top 2 and the 3rd

Just because players have a lot of points doesn't mean it's stacked. The outcome of a game is based on how well a team works together.

This. I once knew a soldier medic combo that were always at least 30 points ahead of anyone below them, because of a combination of self-damage-uber-boosting and teamwork to stay alive.


Now that I mention it, almost no one on TN servers seems to help medics out by firing rockets at the walls and stuff.

There's a few demomen who do that with sticky bombs, but lately they mostly play on dustbowl.

Theres quite a few soldiers and demos (myself included) who will try and build a medic's charge with self-hurt on PL Rot. More likely right before a push rather than on the way to the frontlines, but it still happens a lot. I've killed myself plenty of times doing it too

Hi... You also have to take into account that just because someone isn't in the top 3 doesn't mean they are not good. Someone might have just joined the server and not have picked up the points needed to be on top of the scoreboard.

^ is true. Generally when I'm thinking, "okay, which of these maggots is competent enough to keep me alive" my eyes wander to the top of the scoreboard and pick out an offensive class. Then I go to the very bottom and look for familiar names, knowing that they might have just joined.
